Project Objectives

The overall objective of the project is to protect the aqueous and terrestrial environment and public health of the test sites/water bodies, local population   through water and soil ecosystem management. 

Specific objectives of the project are:

• to implement water quality and quantity monitoring actions in the test sites of the project and to carry out a subsequent environmental evaluation of the system’s performance
• to develop common methodology standards for the water and soil ecosystems management in the context of protecting environmental and human health
• to increase public awareness of local communities on water quality and quantity issues and landuse practices and increase protection of public health from environmental hazards
• to improve relations among participating countries (Greece- the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia) and to establish of bonds for future cooperation

to train personnel of participating bodies on the use of the developed water quality monitoring equipment.
